17 years ago (man that’s a long time isn’t it?) I was the only person in our SHARE chapter that had more than 3 miscarriages without a successful pregnancy. I had 6 miscarriages total. The Today Show wanted to do a story- but I kid you not- it was completely scripted. They had the poem they wanted me to read and the grave marker they wanted me to visit (SHARE had erected it). I refused, and said I was willing to talk about my experience, but not do that. They found someone else.
I would have loved the internet then. I had one friend who miscarried, that was it. I only went to a couple of SHARE meetings because a lot of people there needed to spend more time grieving than I did. I was ready to say “What’s next?” Adoption was next for us.
