I’m not sure if this counts
My friend B was trying to get Madison to take a couple of steps on Saturday. Madison is adept at cruising and she’s started letting go and standing long enough for us to go, “Oh my gosh! She’s standing! Quick! Come see!”
Well, Madison wasn’t interested in walking on Saturday but today I stood her up then let go of her hands then put my arms back out and said, “Come here, Madison!” And her little face lit up and she took two steps before dropping to all fours. I didn’t believe it the first time — I figured it could have been a controlled stagger/fall — so I stood her back up and she did it again. I think this counts for the baby book but am not sure since I coached her pretty strongly.
She was exactly 7.5 months as of yesterday. So B, does this count?
And here’s a picture of the two kids after Noah has placed a collander on her head for a hat. I think she pulls it off nicely.

So your kid took a couple steps, wow!!! Not much of an accomplishment. The real accomplishment will be if she (or he or it) can be successful after the bedwtting liberal up-bringing she will get. Based on what I’ve read, she’ll get her ass kicked, and rightly so!
Enjoy the next four years, while we make money and destroy the envoronment, among other things.
Well, I certainly don’t have anything as smart or witty to say as John Galt (who of course is so smart and witty that he probably read the *entire* Fountainhead, I mean, all the way to the end and everything).
But, !!!!way to go Madison!!!! It sounds like walking to me. And, they are both so wonderfully charming together. Noah just seems like the sweetest boy. And, little Ms. does pull of the collander well. Have a great day, and please, try not to wet the bed, although aparently it’s in your nature.
Best!
Well, I think in a couple years you’ll be able to say without guilt that she started walking around 8 mos. For Steven, the age of 14 mos is the one locked in my head, but I no longer have any memory of specifics. ;o)
Love the hat! Very Devo. And watch out for those early walkers. Toddlerhood seems to be stretching into infinity over here.
That little girl can pull *anything* off. I’m totally jealous of her.
Not to feed the troll, but walking at 7.5 months is actually a pretty big deal. Woohoo! My daughter walked for one night at 11 months and refused to walk again until 13 months. I think we were so excited we overencouraged her, and her leg muscles hurt so much the next day that she decided it wasn’t such a good idea after all. Or maybe she decided it was a nice novelty trick, but crawling was much more practical.
Your kids are gorgeous, both together and separately, btw.
Hey, wait a minute! I read all of The Fountainhead! And I’m super liberal, I swear!
