A meager update

Madison turned 3 months old this Wednesday and everything has gotten easier. She isn’t fussy anymore and her schedule — while still unpredictable — is starting to stretch out and ease up. She has rolled front to back and can very nearly roll the other way, too. She can hitch up on her side anyway and sometimes she starts to tip but I’m not sure if she knows exactly what she’s doing.

She is very social and talkative — cooing to her dragonfly mobile when we rock in the glider. In the morning, while we rock to wake up together, she is always extremely pleased to find that the mobile is still there. She grins up at it and says a baby hello.

We’ve been able to elicit giggles from her, a husky “huh-huh-huh” that sounds like a smoke drenched movie star.

It’s been nice not blogging though I miss it, too. I’ve gotten more writing done and have been knee-deep in article research for a piece that may not go anywhere (I’m researching the pitch). I also got an assignment with a local paper that sounds like fun. Phone interviews are going to be hard with Madison but I’m finding that people understand and so far they have all been gracious.

Mostly though I’m updating to get some Madison pics out there. I’m thinking I’ll update once a week but I want to make some design changes to make the site more cohesive. The front page is changed already and I’ll want to do something about these individual archive pages, too.
