Every year for Father’s Day Noah and I go get one of those cheap frames with the pop-out glass and really wide matte. You can get them at Pier One and World Market (Cost Plus out West). Noah picks out a picture of him and Brett doing something together and then he decorates the matte. We’ve been doing this since Brett’s second father’s day. (For the first one Noah was only about 5 months old so we just got him storybooks.) They’re really cute so I took pics of the first one and the one from last year (those are Pokemon of love and of course, some hearts for good measure). And here is the picture that will receive the royal treatment this upcoming Sunday: I’m kind of crazy about it.
I do a similiar thing every Christmas. It is a great way to quickly scan the years and how the kids have changed!

This is a great idea. For Father’s Day I have a picture of Bert with each of the kids around one. It shows a great chronicle of Bert too to have them all together. I was trying to think of a way to frame them as a group, this is a great idea. I will have each kid decorate a mat.

argh! How perfecto. This is exactly the kind of thing I have been looking for for Sky to do for Matt (matte!) for Father’s Day, only I didn’t realize it. If anyone has access to these or extras or anything, take pity on an isolated mama in the middle of nowhere, if you’re so inclined … I’ll reimburse! Or is there a place I can order online? I know that either way it will be late for Father’s Day, but at least this year, Sky won’t know the difference.
