Madison is 2 months old

So this will be a boring “here’s what Madison is doing” entry that will likely only interest her grandparents.

Madison is extremely aware and friendly little baby. She likes to hold gurgling conversations with us. If she’s in the sling and I’m chatting with friends, she’ll coo to get my attention and wriggle with delight when I look down and catch her eye.

She’s strong and pulls against our hands to stand on our laps. She doesn’t like to be cradle carried unless she’s sleepy; she likes to be upright. She’s patient about tummy-time and can raise her chest off the ground to look around for a pretty long time.

She adores Noah. Just seeing him makes her smile and I think he’ll probably be the first one to make her laugh.

Her fussiness has decreased mightily. As her vocalizing has improved, she’s more likely to talk-cry than she is just to wail. If we talk back to her sympathetically, she can sometimes be jollied out of her bad mood.

She likes hearing the ABCs sung (so did Noah — a lot), she likes being outside looking up at the trees, and she loves all of the slings. When I sit her on the couch in front of me while I put on a sling, she smiles and sometimes calms if she’s complaining. Her vision must be pretty good to recognize what it is that I’m doing.
