1. The tv show “Judging Amy.” Brett and I think it’s hilarious because there are always about seventy-million plots in the show. Things getting boring? Throw in another plot! And I also like to criticise Judge Amy’s pants, which are way too tight. We are even happier because Profit is currently guest starring as Amy’s love interest. We are only sorry that as Amy’s love interest, Profit doesn’t have to sleep naked in a cardboard box with a hole cut out so he can watch tv like back in the good old days.
2. Madison is officially in cloth diapers, which I got to hang out to dry this past weekend. I have a housekeeping fetish of loving to hang diapers out to dry. Today it’s raining and I had to use the dryer but soon the umbrella clothes line out back will be in near constant use.
3. My friend K. is about to have her baby and yet she has this bizarre need to deliver a quiche to me before said baby arrives. This cracks me up. My theory is that until the quiche is handed over, the baby is refusing to come out and that’s why she can’t just blow it off. Or else she’s working on making sure her karma is on the upswing so that I’ll be sure to make her a smashing casserole during her baby moon.
4. Noah is making treasure hunts for Brett. So far this week he’s made three. He makes maps and hides them around the house (or out in the yard when it isn’t raining) and they eventually lead to a box of spare change. He uses Brett change and generously allows Brett to keep it.
5. My third friend L. is coming over Friday afternoon to meet the baby. I love her and can’t wait to see her. She had infertility and then baby blues after her second daughter was born so I’m anxious to cry on her shoulder. Also my friend A. is coming over Friday night! I haven’t seen her in eons and she’s always good for a laugh.
There. That’s five things. Dandy.

Tuesday night is an embarrassment of riches on TV, so Judging Amy is often the one I can’t watch. I like the actor who plays her boyfriend-very cute, plus he’s married to a Dixie Chick!
OMG! We used to watch Profit. I had forgotten about that. Too funny.
I love Judging Amy too, so allow me to recommend my favorite TV vice: The OC. First teenage soap opera I’ve ever seen in which the parents are just as interesting, if not more so, than the kids. I love Peter Gallagher in everything. His relationship with his wife on the show is delightful. His relationship with his son, Seth, is also delightful, as is the actor who plays the son. Tate Donovan rocks too. The actual non-comic leads are not-so-good in the acting department, but easy on the eyes. And talk about plot!
I have a question if you have time for an answer: when you hand your diapers out to dry, how on earth do you get rid of that stiff fabric feel? Or do you even bother? I use some Kissaluvs (kissaluvs.com) and homemade flannel fitted diapers and they are both kind of stiff and crusty feeling when I hang them out. Anyway, thanks for the blog. Madison is adorable! Congratulations on your new little baby!
I get to watch Judging Amy in the afternoons. I just love her mother.
I enjoyed that. Can I steal the topic and make a list of my own? Thanks for your sweet note. Your site was just the place that I needed to come today! I loved the How to Survive An Adoption, and it was perfect timing! I just read about the surrender, too. I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been! It was written beautifully and with such emotion that I think I was crying half way thru! Loved the picture, she is precious! I hope things are going well for you!
I just read through your site and I think you are amazing! Congrats on the baby! I have adopted two children and we are working on bringing one more child into are family. Stories like yours warms my heart!
I like Judging Amy too. Ever notice how the whole family (mostly excluding the cousin in AA) takes to the bottle (typically wine except the brother who is a beer drinker since his wife left him)and indulges on junk food (a pint of ice cream seems to be the standard) when life gets tough for them?
