In the swing of things
We’ve started up our official homeschool classes this week and I’m seeing a lot of old friends and we’re making some new ones.
I met a woman today who has a child Noah’s age and it turns out that her first child was adopted in a private, lawyer-facilitated adoption. They were placed with their daughter after several other couples turned the baby down. Why? Because the baby’s birthmother was extremely tall.
These stories I’m telling, they sound like they’re unique to adoptive parents but they’re not. Every parent has bizarre issues and weird neuroses but because they give birth to their children, those issues don’t get the same public play. For example, that woman I overheard who obviously had some kind of twisted messiah complex, she could visit that on bio-kids, too, but it would have played out differently and the weirdness of it might not have seemed so obvious.
I’m blathering. I’m taking a break from work and choosing to blather. Best get back to the grind now, I guess.

*hugh sucking gasp*
’cause she was too tall? WTF? WTMF? WTMFFFMF?
some potential adoptive parents need to be given a hug and shown the door.
