Time for the book proposal again

I’m caught up at work (finally!) and happened to catch my muse as she wandered by the house so I went back to focusing on my book proposal. I hadn’t wanted to work on it since I got the first sample chapter done. It’s hard to wait for inspiration to return because it’s not something that I can force. No good will come of trying to force it but if I’m patient, it’ll come my way again.

Having work neatly scheduled helped and also hearing some news that changed how I was looking at fall (work news, not adoption news) and voila! There I was wanting to write on my book again.

I sent a query letter to an agent — only one because she was recommended to me by an editor for whom I’ve written a couple of times. If she doesn’t bite, I’ll query my author-friend’s agent and if that doesn’t work out, I’ll start cold-queries. Meanwhile, I’m trying to finish out the proposal and add a bit to the first sample chapter (not the one I passed around here).

Hope my muse sticks around long enough to let me get it done.

  3. Good luck! When you’re done with your muse, would you send her this way? ;-) I have almost one chapter of a book I’ve been thinking about forever, and can’t get my ideas to come together enough for more work on it.
