Search strings

I can see the searches people do on my blog in that box to the right there in the links column. Some people come here to see if I’m writing about them. FYI: I rarely use names of friends (or cousins of Brett’s) so if you’re looking for yourself, write me and I’ll tell you if you’re on here.

I also find people looking for specific dates or for bands (throwing muses, anyone?) and someone was doing a search on the RE we used. I get the usual tacky p*rn searches and someone came on here looking for, well, me. I thought that was a little odd. Pretty much if you’ve found this blog, you’ve found me so I’m not clear why you’d do a search on my name there. I also get a lot of searches for weight loss stuff. Ironic as I am not someone you should look to for weight loss tips.

Just to make you paranoid types even more nervous: I can see the IPs of people who do a search. Now mind you it’s unlikely that I’ll try to figure out who you are if you type in, say, “kate bush” but those of you who typed in other more provoking searches, I generally go straight to GeekTools or IP Address locator to find out who on earth comes here looking for “June 25, 2003.” (Nothing of note was recorded on that day, by the way.)
