Meme for the week (weak)
Jun 30, 2003 The Story of My Life
Stolen from Roni:
1. If you had to choose an alias, what would it be?
I have one. I’m not telling.
2. Where were you on 9/11?
At home, answering email.
3. What is your ideal vacation?
Someplace cool and green and shady with a comfortable bed, a good book, Noah playing just outside the door and Brett snoring beside me.
4. How many first cousins do you have?
11 and I don’t know any of them very well. They’re all on the west coast. No, wait, two are down South but I’ve never met them.
5. How do you take your pizza?
With lots of veggies especially artichokes!
6. If you could be fluent in any foreign language (that you are not already) what would it be?
I flunked both Russian and French. I’d like to learn Yiddish, Hebrew and Russian in that order.
7. What is your favorite website?
I’m fond of this one. It caters to my needs: I’m able to express myself and click to all of my favorites. However, google is the one I use the most.
8. If you could experience another era of history, which would it be?
The roaring 20s. I like flappers.
9. What is your favorite genre of movies?
Drama.
10. If you could have any one superpower, what would it be?
Invisibility.
11. Can you whistle?
Somewhat.
12. If you could be any animal for a day, what would it be?
What? I dunno. When I was a kid I would have said — without hesitation — a cat.
13. Who is your favorite fictional character?
Well, I currently have a crush on Fenno, but I’d have to say Antonia White’s alter ego in her quartet of books. Her names changes from the first to the second book but she is particularly my favorite in A Frost in May. I also quite like Little My and Ramona.
14. Star Wars or Star Trek? is neither an option?
Star Wars, I suppose.
15. What is your favorite beverage?
Water.
16. What brand of toothpaste do you use?
Whatever is on sale.
17. What is your favorite professional sports team?
This is a trick question, right? I don’t have one.
18. Are you “indoorsy” or “outdoorsy”?
I like to think of myself of outdoorsy but it’s all lies. I don’t like bugs, heat or extreme cold. I tell you what, I like to be inside but I like windows. That way I can fool myself into thinking that I’m appreciative of nature and not just in theory.
19. What is your earliest childhood memory?
It’s a long one. I was about 18 months old and my mom and I used to go to Jack in the Box while my sister was in preschool. I used to get a whaler sandwich, which confused me because it was not actually made of whale. I knew that my mom must love me best because we never ate fast food except when Erica was in preschool. I remember particularly sitting in the front, creamy yellow colored seat of our car watching my mom order into the clown’s mouth and feeling very content and loved.
20. If you could play any musical instrument, what would it be?
Well since the voice *is* a musical instrument, I pick being a good singer. Like Ella or Sarah Vaughan. Heck, I’d settle for Dinah Washington or Blossom Dearie.
21. What’s your favorite accent?
Yiddish.
22. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Teacher, writer, mom. Lucky me, I’ve had all three.
23. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Cat but I do adore our Peanut.
24. If they were making a movie or TV show of your life, who would you choose to play you?
Kate Winslet ‘cuz she’s so pretty and she’s so smart.
25. What is your favorite element (earth, fire, water or air)?
Well, I am fond of air…
26. If you could compete in any event in the Olympics (summer or winter) what would it be?
Goodness, I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t mind being good enough to compete though.
27. What is your favorite Sunday comic strip?
Oh gosh, I get all nostalgic over Peanuts.
28. What kind of music do you listen to?
Rap is the only kind of music that I don’t appreciate. I’d like to learn to appreciate it but then I’d have to listen to it.
29. What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch but I never buy it.
30. What is your worst habit?
Finding things to do on the computer other than work.

I love your first memory! That is great! And, I knew you liked showtunes, but I never knew you could not appreciate rap…for me country is the only music I feel I don’t get…it all sounds wrong to me…
