Tired of February

Arghhh. Too much snow. Too much cold. I’m ready for spring! All my mommy-friends are in the same boat; we’re worn-out, run-down, and out of patience. Winter has over-stayed its welcome and there’s more snow expected next week.

I’m trying to get more organized. There’s no hope in actually revamping my life completely but if I can at least carve out some chunks of time, that will help a lot. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this job upheaval, it’s never to depend on income because I hear that publishing changes like this happen more often than not.

I feel like I have to start diversifying my writing resume and doing more freelance work. I’m going to have to continue the querying frenzy I’ve been on and also make sure I have time to do the things I’m already contracted to do.

I got a writing job last week but then it got moved off the publication schedule before I ever handed it in. It was a spec job so I knew that was a risk. I did all this information gathering and just as I was bout to sit down and pull it together, they wrote me and asked me to put it on hold. Rats. It’s not a subject I could market someplace else either; it was very specific to this editor’s plans.

I sound grouchier than I am, really. I’m just missing regular exercise and sun. And fresh fruit in abundance. And warmth.

Basically it’s February in Ohio and I’m a bit stir-crazy.

    February is bad, bad, bad.

February is such a drag that even the month itself takes a few days off!

…and drat-it-all, on the very last day of February, my “baby” is going to turn EIGHT on me!…rotten child!

On the bright side, those of us in Ohio’s “snow-belt” got a litle break…we didn’t get the nasty snow that you “southern Ohioans” got last week.

Spring will come…and with it the brown muddy mush! (feel any better???)
