Giving christianity a bad name
Listen, those of you who are Christian out there need to start speaking up and quit letting the idiot conservatives define your religion for the rest of America. Listen to Jeb’s new appointee (to lead the child welfare bureau in Florida) talk stupid in this CNN article:
“Most men have been so intimidated by theories on child rearing that they discipline tentatively and often only as a last resort,” [Regier wrote. “The Bible is not at all uncertain about the value of discipline ‘Although you smite him with the rod, he will not die. Smite him with the rod … save the soul.”‘
Regier wrote that women should be helpmates to their husbands and “our aim, within the church and outside it, should be to encourage and facilitate mothers working at home.”
And not only is he a jerk with a backward point of view, he’s also a hypocrite because he’s defending himself to the press by saying that his own wife works out of home. What’s that got to do with the price of tea in China? Anyway, Jeb says that people are attacking this guy not because his point of view is, well, chauvinistic and unsound but because there is a “soft bigotry that is emerging against people of faith.” No, we just don’t like bigots who want to inflict their religious point of view on others.
C’mon, Christians! Rally around and take back your faith!

I wonder if you have even studied what the bible says about being a wife? I grew up in a Presbyterian Church that hardly spoke of Jesus, much less how to be a Christian wife. Do some study, then the word “helpmeet” won’t be so threatening and scary to you.
